OUR STORY

In 1937, Lakeside Deli first opened on Lakeshore Avenue. The business had

been an institution within the Lakeshore community, serving there for

over 65 years. Taking on step closer to becoming the Lakeshore Cafe you

recognize today, the space was remodeled in 1985 by the famed Creative

Spaces design team. With its post-modernist take on Grecian theme,

intricate terrazzo flooring, and its light and open feel, 3257 Lakeshore

Avenue is definitely a standout.

Fast forward to June 2002 when David Saidian, a graduate of the California

Culinary Academy, and Mohammed Haghighi wanted to bring this

neighborhood cafe that embraced the fusion of California cuisine. Serving

breakfast staples like Belgian waffles, egg scrambles and omelets, they

incorporate only the freshest fruits and produce the area has to offer.

For lunch, David and Moe created a menu that would appeal to any budget

and many tastes by offering great valued sandwiches, salads, and juicy

burgers as well as succulent steaks and pasta dishes.

A long line can always be seen at the door for Saturday and Sunday

brunch. With daily specials that always delight, and

mimosas on the weekend, it's easy to see why people keep coming back!
